From Sketch to Painting

In my last blog post, I had done some sketches from photos I had taken. The sketches were done in charcoal and watercolor.

This week, I took one of those sketches and did a painting from it. The image is from a recent trip to the St. Louis Art Museum.

I was caught by the beautiful, streaming light creating a simple sillhouette in this old corridor of gleaming floors

and sparkling glass cases. Now for the hard part, to name the piece. Any suggestions for a title?

Here are both for comparison.

The finished piece is 12 X 24 inches, done in oil on stretched canvas, $700.
