Day 8 of the 30 Day Painting Challenge is a simple little still life.

Actually I was going to do this last week. I cut up the cantaloupe, set up the lighting, etc. then decided I couldn't stand the smell of my paint. So I just did a little sketch and took a photo. Now a week later that was what I used as my reference for this painting. I think it's finished. It's 8 X 10 right now but it's on loose canvas and will need to be mounted to wood so may crop it a little tighter later.

Here's the sketch I did last week, which is what I used as reference for the painting above.

30 Day Painting Challenge, Day...# Whatever!

Sick for several days and missed painting. Gotta get back in the swing of things. I'm not even going to say I'll try to catch up. If I do that's great, if not, I'm okay with it.

So here's a funky little slipper chair. I've been looking for a chair for my bedroom for awhile now. This is the style I want, but in black or gray rather than purple. I just made this one purple just for fun. It's done in oil, 6 X 6.

So now I'm all set up and seem to be on a roll. I've sketched out a few pieces to work on in the next few days. It's late but now and I should call it a night but I'm wide awake and in the mood to paint so here's a colorful little floral of daisies. I have them in a little Ball jar, sitting on a pretty little antique china plate.

So that's it for now, time to scrape the palette and clean the brushes. More tomorrow.
