Almost

One rose, not roses. A teacup, but no tea.

"Life's not all tea and roses." is a saying my grandmother used to use.

I think this was just her version of "Life is just a bed of roses."

Well Grandma, it may not be all tea and roses, but... almost.

Kirkwood, Webster and Cottleville

Hello to all my art friends!

There are several things going on in the St. Louis area over

the next few days, both artsy and fun.

Thursday afternoon, March 12, I will be working at

OA Gallery in Kirkwood, right across from the train station.

If you're in the area, drop by to see some wonderful artwork and of course, me.

Friday night, March 13, I have two opening receptions to attend.

I will be at Green Door Art Gallery in Webster Groves at 5 pm.

where we will welcome friends from Augusta, MO

in advance of the upcoming Plein Air event in Augusta.

Then around 6:30 I will drive over to OA Gallery

for the Meramec Junior College Student Art Show.

Then Saturday, if you're anywhere around St. Charles, MO

you might find me at the Cottleville St. Patrick's Day Parade.

It's a crazy event that brings over seven thousand people to this tiny, little town.

For those of you that I don't get to see, have a wonderful weekend anyway.

Old Pot

Years ago, for my daughter's wedding, we painted something like 50 white flower pots

for ivy to decorate with. I still have some of those pots and use them

for some of my small plants. I actually like them better now, with peeling paint and a

little green mold growing on the outsides of them.

I still have one of them and it's on my bathroom counter. One recent afternoon, the

sun shot across this pot of African violets and caught my eye. Perfect for a painting,

almost. It needed a little more color so I ran to the kitchen for a lemon.

Here is the end result.

It's little, just 6 X 6 but I put it in a wide gold frame and it looks so pretty.
