During a trip to New Orleans a few years ago, on Bourbon Street we happened upon these delightful, young street musicians. I couldn't resist taking some photos. Funny thing, he was so still, I didn't even notice the dog until I saw the photo up on my computer screen. But once I saw him, it just had to become a painting. It was so much fun to paint, I might just do another from other pictures of this trip.
